Why inspection and remediation should be separate
An independent inspector has no financial stake in whether remediation is needed. When the same company inspects and remediates, there's an inherent conflict of interest — they profit more if they find a problem. Most industry standards (including IICRC S520) recommend keeping these services separate. We note when a listed company offers both.
